Meet the Teacher
Sumaya Yusuf was born in the United States Midwest region. She is pursuing a degree in Biochemistry. Sumaya is a member of the Honors Research Group at the University of Central Florida. She has volunteered in a range of educational and healthcare-related settings. She has more than two years of experience as an educator. During her high school years, the COVID-19 pandemic sparked Sumaya’s interest in studying infections and diseases control. Sumaya is a member of the national STEM research team and is particularly interested in pathobiology, or the study of disease origin and dissemination. She enjoys going on nature walks, reading novels, and learning new languages in her leisure time. She is interested in obtaining a Ph.D. at the University of Central Florida’s Institute of Medicine.
